Several PBA players were quick to react to the coin-throwing of some Barangay Ginebra San Miguel fans following their team's quarterfinal loss to GlobalPort on Sunday night.
The game ended on a controversial play as the Gin Kings trapped ball-handler Stanley Pringle by the half-court line to force a violation, but no whistle was made by the referees.
Fans waited outside the players' exit to cheer on their team, who was knocked out of the playoffs yet again before reaching the semifinal round.
When Batang Pier forward Jay Washington left the Mall of Asia Arena with his family, however, the fans booed passionately and some even threw coins at their car.
Ginebra big man Joe Devance immediately tried to pacify their supporters, posting this tweet as soon as he heard about the incident.
Hey Ginebra Fans i hope its not true of the news of vandalizing globalport players cars and harassing them. They did their job and we didnt

Talk 'N Text veteran Kelly Williams and NLEX forward Rob Reyes also engaged some fans on twitter, calling out their behavior after the loss.
For the record Jay had his wife and kid with them who had to dodge coins also..but a little trolling makes it ok to throw coins at kids..smh

We can't throw coins when we're mocked “@AkoSiDaddyNate: Jay Wash mocked the fans bro. Cant blame em”

GlobalPort guard Terrence Romeo, meanwhile, put a dash of humor on the situation despite also reportedly being on the receiving end of coin-throwing.
Grabe walang batuhan ng piso sayang yun pera rin po yun ?????? sports lang po.

Some fans clamored to put the game under protest, but Ginebra did not file a letter and a bond before Monday noon, the deadline set by the PBA. —JST, GMA News
